Heya
Currently enjoying the sights of Burgos and its amazing Catherdral. Over the past couple of days I´ve done some fairly long walks and have really enjoyed them. I thought I would never walk again after the first 30km walk but after a fairly easy 22kms the following I busted out a 35 km day from Santa Domingo to Villa Franca. This was the first day that I used my ipod so the tunes I had going had a fairly good tempo to keep in time with. I had an amazing stratch of aboiut 10 km where I didn´t see another walker at all. At this point I put on Dolly Parton and sang to my hearts content! I may have upset a few Spansih shepards but who doesn´t love a really version of Joellene by a tone deaf singer!! I hear that an American couple have nicknamed me joellene now after I told them about my singing. I would have preferred Dolly as a nick name but beggars can´t be choosers.
When I arrived at what seemed like paradise after the 35km day I ran into a couple from Dublin who I had met previusly in Pamplona. Now these two are real north Dubliners who were looking for a McDonalds in Pamplona because ´Jaysus, If I don´t get a booorger soon, I´ll turnm into one of these tapas eatin spaniards´ I mean seriously….do you know what country you are walking through!!!! Anyway I saw the husband after my walk who was about to say ´Jaysus you´re a stupid girl for walking that far¨but I gave him a quick look that said if you finish that sentence you´ll get a back hand across the face, and I´ll take your legs out from under you with my walking poles….and stuff you´re gob with a Big Mac ya gobshite!!!¨He left me alone for the rest of the day then!!

Hey dude, just catching up with your blogs now after busy couple of weeks. I love hearing about your adventures and all the odd bods. 35km! That PhD must be working it’s way out of your system. Take care and keep writing.
